Summer 2025: Julianna, Elijah from our group, and Ashley from the Peshkov group went to the soft matter summer school at UMass Amherst!

  • Summer 2024 – New students! Julianna Betancourt will participate in the summer SUReA research program. Welcome Hugo Lopez, Tracy Yang, and Elijah Gibson!

  • September 2023 – Graduate students Stephen Smith and Gargi Mansingh joined our group!
  • June 2023 – Jose Lopez-Ceja and Christopher Feltman have joined our group! They have been selected for participation in the SUReA program of CSUF.
  • June 2023 – Sk Tahmid Shariar, our first graduate student has joined the group.

  • April 2023 – Dr. Tanjeem has received the Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (RSCA) award from CSUF in collaboration with Dr. Shen!
  • March 2023 – We received our first major funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF award 2301692) to study self-assembled responsive materials!
  • March 2023 – Dr. Tanjeem is presenting her work at the APS March meeting on making microscale logic gates using light patterns.
  • Jan 2023 – Ji Woo (Grace) Kim has joined the group to start new experiments.
  • Dec 2022 – we are growing as an interdisciplinary group! Shirlaine Juliano from the biology department has joined the lab.
  • We are recruiting! Professor Tanjeem will be talking to the Physics club students at CSUF about her research on Nov. 17, 2022.
