Research

Currently, we are pursuing two major research projects:

1. light-responsive particle systems: where we synthesize light-responsive nanoparticles and their composites and study how their photothermal response drive flow, self-assembly, and shapeshifting in different colloidal particle systems.

2. Binary particle assemblies: where we study how to control microscopic order and dynamics by using different shapes of colloidal particles.

Our research is funded by NSF and CSUF intramural grants. Please feel free to contact if you are interested in learning more details of the current projects.
